We are returning to our First Tuesday in-person events at the public library but NOTE:
-the new start time is 6:30 pm
-the new location is the St. Boniface library branch, right across the Provencher Bridge at Provencher and Tache. Free parking is available.

Speaking Crow is a space that values diversity, creativity, and encouragement. Whether you do spoken word or page poetry, whether you have published widely or just started writing, we can't wait to hear your poems.

Featured Reader: John Weier
John Weier (born in 1949) has published over a dozen books, including six major collections of poetry. Weier was born in Manitoba, grew up in Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ontario, and now lives in Winnipeg. His first book of poetry, After the Revolution, was published in 1986 and his most recent, Where Calling Birds Gather in 2013. He is also the author of the books Marshwalker: Naturalist Memoirs (1998) and Stand the Sacred Tree (2003). He is Past President of the League of Canadian Poets and was a major player in the formative years of the Literary Press Group, Access Copyright, and Canadian Book Information Centre. For many years a professional luthier, he now has a career as a therapist and mindfulness teacher. Known for his birdwatching mastery, he has logged over 3,400 species of birds. A collection of New & Selected Poems of John Weier, edited by Nathan Dueck, was just released by CMU Press.
