Join us for Trees Atlanta’s 2025 Georgia Arbor Week Speaker Series: An evening with Dr. Sarah Adloo, Executive Director of the Old Growth Forest Network. The Old-Growth Forest Network is the only national network in the U.S. of protected, old-growth, native forests where people of all generations can experience biodiversity and the beauty of nature. As we continue to plant new trees for the future, Sarah shares the importance of old-growth forests, how you might know you’re in one, and inspires us to protect, restore, and celebrate the magnificent old-growth forests we have in the Atlanta Metro - and across the U.S.About the Speaker: Dr. Sarah Adloo is a conservation social scientist whose work revolves around how people connect to trees and forests. She serves as Executive Director of the Old-Growth Forest Network, a national nonprofit focused on protecting old-growth forests and connecting people to these special places. Sarah has a B.S. from Georgia Tech, and an M.S. and Ph.D. in Integrative Conservation and Forest Resources from the University of Georgia. Sarah is located in Atlanta and her favorite pastime is peeking to see what’s living under rocks and logs.
City Forest Certification: The City Forest Certification is Trees Atlanta’s newest community action program. This hands on program is designed to guide and empower everyday people with practical knowledge and skills. Neighbor by neighbor and property by property, we can grow and connect a network of forests big and small. By attending this program you can earn 1 Acorn towards your City Forest Certification
