Join us to learn more about Rotary and hear from our wonderful speaker, Charissa Sendejas of Santo's Sanctuary and Rescue, a Houston-based dog rescue built for the ones who need us most. Charissa states:
"My husband and I started our 501c3 in 2021 because we couldn’t look away from what was happening to dogs in our community.
Both of us work full time careers, which means 100% of donations go straight to the dogs, medical, training, food, rehab, transport…whatever it takes to give them a real shot.
Our mission is simple: help Texas dogs who need us most. We partner with shelters to pull dogs facing euthanasia, take in street dogs, mamas and puppies, and step in when owned pets are in crisis. Since we started, we’ve impacted over 1,300 animals and we’re just getting started.
In 2025 and 2026, we’re doubling down on and providing free microchips and supporting spay/neuter efforts for Houston-area pets to keep dogs out of shelters and with the families who love them.
A huge part of what makes this work is community. We’ve built incredible partnerships with local breweries and businesses, and have been lucky to grow a circle of people who consistently show up, support, and believe in what we’re doing.
Next up for us is expanding…securing land and building out a structure so we can increase capacity and save even more lives."
