“If it doesn’t challenge you, it doesn’t change you.” With this belief at its core, IBA-JU Debating Club is back with one of its most awaited intra events, the fifth edition of its signature skill-building competition, “Speak to Lead 5.0”, an intra IBA-JU public speaking and extempore speech competition.
A tradition that began with the 29th batch of IBA-JU, Speak to Lead has evolved into a hallmark event that empowers freshmen to find their voice, sharpen their oratory skills, and lead through the power of speech. This year, the 33rd batch gets the opportunity to take the stage and prove that leaders are made through words that inspire, influence, and ignite change.
𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐑𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐬:
1. The competition will be completely offline-based and will consist of two segments (Bangla and English).
2. In the first round, participants will deliver a speech on a pre-selected topic, which will be provided one day before the round.
3. Based on their performance, finalists from each segment will qualify for the Grand Finale.
4. The Grand Finale will feature an impromptu (extempore) speech competition where the winners will be decided.
5. The IBA-JU Debating Club reserves the right to modify the rules if necessary.
𝐉𝐮𝐝𝐠𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬:
1. Participants will be evaluated based on content, delivery, confidence, and time management.
2. The top three performers from each segment will be announced as Champion and Runners-up and will be awarded crests and certificates.
