In today's rapidly evolving world, innovation is not just for the young; it holds immense promise for enhancing the lives of seniors.
Dr James Kah, Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the National University of Singapore, will delve into practical innovations that address challenges faced by seniors, from healthcare to home convenience, while emphasising their role in fostering independence, safety, and well-being. He will also explore the barriers and fears that seniors face in adopting new technologies, offering strategies to ensure accessibility and empower them with knowledge and tools for greater independence and connection.

About the speaker
Dr James Kah is an Associate Professor in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS). He also serves as the Vice-Dean overseeing outreach and special projects at NUS’ College of Design and Engineering. As an educator, Dr Kah teaches undergraduate courses on Gerontechnology in Ageing and Assistive Technology for Persons with Disabilities. He leverages community-based learning to drive innovations through co-designing solutions with the elderly and disability communities in Singapore. In fact, some of these innovations are already being used by various community groups.
