Spark & Shift: Taking Action on Community Safety and Wellbeing

The City of Victoria is hosting Spark and Shift: Taking Action on Community Safety and Wellbeing, a free one-day forum on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Victoria Conference Centre.

The event will bring together community leaders, businesses, not-for-profits, social service providers and government agencies for a collaborative conversation about the City's Community Safety and Wellbeing Plan, phase one actions and ongoing work.

Join us for engaging presentations by Mayor Marianne Alto and Victoria Police Chief Fiona Wilson and other special guests. The forum will include break-out discussions centred around prevention, intervention and response.

Discussion topics will reflect key areas of the plan: housing; healthcare; service delivery; downtown; residents; commerce; policing and justice; and the City's community safety and wellbeing services.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the City's community safety and wellbeing work, engage in solutions-focused conversations, ask questions and provide valuable feedback.

This forum is an important step toward strengthening Victoria’s community safety and wellbeing response through coordinated action, informed dialogue and community collaboration.
