“It’s just you and me now, old sport…and I’m going to find you, goddammit.” Our next screening will be Michael Mann’s vibey serial killer thriller MANHUNTER, in collaboration of the good folks at Bok Movie Club on Monday, September 15th. Beating Silence of the Lambs by several years, this adaptation of Thomas Harris’ Hannibal Lecter potboiler Red Dragon is Mann at his best. You got deep ocean blues, synth music, and men staring off into the distance alone. Brian Cox steals his scenes as Hannibal the Cannibal, toying with William Petersen’s grimly obsessed FBI agent Will Graham in his quest to stop the Red Dragon killer. Probably the best use of In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida ever. We’ll be at the Bok Auditorium, accessible from 800 Mifflin St. Doors open at 6:45, film at 7! Doors will close at 7:15.
