SP360 Lambeth Workshop: Creating with Clay!

Soul Purpose 360 is a national Black women’s empowerment social enterprise. Its mission is to motivate, inspire and imbue confidence in Black women to help them overcome obstacles and challenges and support them to contribute positively to their communities through their own personal growth.

Soul Purpose 360 Lambeth is part of the national network of Black Women’s Networking and Empowerment Circles around the UK. We look forward to welcoming you to our community space in Lambeth, where you'll have opportunities to learn, share, develop skills, grow in confidence, make new friends, build social & business networks and enjoy opportunities for self development.

We host monthly workshops at the Notre Dame Community Centre, 1 Worsopp Drive, SW4 9QU on the 3rd Thursday of each month.

Workshops run for one hour, from 7.30-8.30pm and the rest of the time is dedicated to networking.

These gatherings are part of an empowerment programme, where members choose the session topics that they believe will offer them the support, information, guidance and advice they need for personal growth and community enrichment. For our June workshop you'll be guided by ceramic artist, Maria Lucas in creating an object that represents you.

Maria Lucas is a ceramic artist who loves to witness people immerse themselves in creativity. She designs and creates a range of functional and decorative ceramic items. All her items are handmade, therefore giving each piece their uniqueness.

Workshop content:

During the evening, you will be asked to find your inner child and create an object that represents you out of clay. You will share why you choose this item – this may release some emotions, and this is okay as we will be in a safe space.

What will the workshop contain:

The objects you create will be decorated using paints and other craft accessories however you decide. We will provide all the materials you need - please just wear comfortable clothing - something you don't mind getting a little messy. We will be using air-drying clay, so you'll be able to take your creations home with you!

What you will be left with:

Your own hand-made creation!

Knowledge on how to work with clay.

Opportunities to share and connect in a safe, supportive environment.

At the end, there will be time for reflection, through guiding questions and prompts.
