Connecting nutrition, education with personalized care.
Nourishing the Roots is a four-week, culturally centered pre and postnatal nutrition program created specifically for underserved families. We use culture as a bridge to clinical care, connecting familiar foods and traditions with practical tools for healthier pregnancies and families.
Each week focuses on a key area of nutrition, blood pressure and anemia, blood sugar and gestational diabetes, and postpartum health. We also identify health risks, connect families to the right resources, and help close the loop with their care team.
At its heart, Nourishing the Roots is about honoring our culture, improving maternal health, and giving families the tools to build healthier pregnancies and healthier generations.
Everyone is welcome to join in this free community workshop. We will have classes on Tuesdays at the Lodi Public Library at 10am & 12 pm & Fridays at 10am at the Maya Angelou Library in Stockton beginning in October.
