About this Event

NOTE NEW TIME! Earlier than other workshops this season.

This five-hour experiential workshop explores sovereignty as the inner capacity to govern one's life with integrity, self-trust, and self-belonging. Drawing from Jungian psychology, dreamwork, mythology, alchemy, and the psychology of love, participants will explore sovereignty not as domination or independence, but as the ability to remain rooted in oneself while fully engaged with life, instinct, relationship, and the demands of the world.

The workshop follows a developmental arc: Instinct to Containment to Sovereignty to Relationship to Sacred Marriage.

We begin by exploring the distinction between power and authority, self-rule and domination, and heroic striving versus mature stewardship. Through reflective and experiential exercises, participants will consider where they have ceded authority to fear, conditioning, inherited expectations, or unconscious patterns.

From there, we move into the archetypal territories of the Sovereign Queen and Sovereign King. Through guided imaginal work, reflective writing, active imagination, and group dialogue, participants will encounter these inner figures and explore their relationship to authority, desire, creativity, responsibility, vitality, and self-governance. Particular attention will be given to the Queen's task of reclaiming authority and self-definition, and the King's task of developing a conscious relationship to power, service, emotional responsibility, and stewardship.

Dreamwork becomes a bridge into the symbolic life of the psyche as we explore how sovereign, instinctual, and transformative images emerge through dreams. Drawing on the image of the tiger, we will consider sovereignty as a relationship with instinct—not its domination or suppression, but its conscious containment and integration.

The final portion of the workshop explores Eros, projection, and the alchemical Sacred Marriage through the myth of Psyche and Eros, and the alchemical coniunctio. Participants will engage in dream inquiry, journaling, projection work, guided visualization, pair dialogue, and active imagination as they explore how intimacy changes when it arises between two sovereign centers rather than from a search for completion.

Together we will explore how instinct becomes contained, how containment gives rise to sovereignty, how sovereignty transforms relationship, and how the sacred marriage emerges as an ongoing practice of holding opposites: freedom and commitment, power and tenderness, instinct and consciousness, self and other.

Welcome to Season 18 ~ Archetype

This season, our Friday evenings will have more audience engagement and participation. You will have the opportunity that evening to begin what we will dive into fully the next day, Saturday, in embodied, highly interactive exploration and practice- together! This season follows Jung's concept of archetype: a universal, inherited pattern of thought, image, and symbol that lives in the collective unconscious of all human beings. These deep mental blueprints shape how we feel, dream, and act, and they show up in myths and stories across every culture.

Consider investing in yourself each month this season. Give yourself an entire immersive, transformational experience with like-minded, like-hearted community. Renew your heart and soul. Dive and play with us, as Jung himself did, in the ether of soul and self. We will be weaving Jung's teachings deeply into our explorations.

About Our Presenter:

Stacey Shelby, Ph.D., is a depth psychotherapist, author, speaker, and educator. In her private practice, she works with individuals online as they navigate life transitions, relationship challenges, anxiety, and questions of meaning. She serves as adjunct faculty at Pacifica Graduate Institute in California and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) in Canada. Her approach fosters greater self-trust, emotional clarity, and inner authority—so clients can move forward with steadiness, insight, and a stronger connection to their lived experience.
