What does it mean to become sovereign in one’s own life?
About this Event

Across mythology, depth psychology, and alchemy, the figures of the Queen and King symbolize something far greater than gender. They represent the emergence of inner authority—the capacity to govern one’s life from a deep center rather than from fear, conditioning, approval-seeking, or unconscious forces.

In this evening presentation, Dr. Stacey Shelby explores sovereignty as an archetypal journey. Drawing from Jungian psychology, mythology, dreamwork, and alchemical symbolism, she will examine the development of the Sovereign Queen and Sovereign King as expressions of mature consciousness. Together we will explore themes of self-rule, authority, vitality, desire, creativity, beauty, instinct, and the liberation of the psyche from inherited limitations.

The lecture will consider how sovereignty develops through life’s initiations, losses, and transformations, and why many people find themselves called toward a deeper relationship with power and purpose during periods of transition. Participants will leave with a richer understanding of sovereignty as both a psychological and spiritual task, as well as practical reflections for recognizing where greater authority and aliveness may be seeking expression in their own lives.

A brief experiential exercise will invite participants into a direct encounter with the archetypal energies being discussed.

Welcome to Season 18 ~ Archetype

This season, our Friday evenings will have more audience engagement and participation. You will have the opportunity that evening to begin what we will dive into fully the next day, Saturday, in embodied, highly interactive exploration and practice- together! This season follows Jung's concept of archetype: a universal, inherited pattern of thought, image, and symbol that lives in the collective unconscious of all human beings. These deep mental blueprints shape how we feel, dream, and act, and they show up in myths and stories across every culture.

Consider investing in yourself each month this season. Give yourself an entire immersive, transformational experience with like-minded, like-hearted community. Renew your heart and soul. Dive and play with us, as Jung himself did, in the ether of soul and self. We will be weaving Jung's teachings deeply into our explorations.

About Our Presenter:

Stacey Shelby, Ph.D., is a depth psychotherapist, author, speaker, and educator. In her private practice, she works with individuals online as they navigate life transitions, relationship challenges, anxiety, and questions of meaning. She serves as adjunct faculty at Pacifica Graduate Institute in California and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) in Canada. She is a certified clinical dream tender and has studied extensively in plant medicine and yoga traditions. An entrepreneur, she is the founder of two therapy clinics and an AI therapy app.

Drawn to depth psychology by a desire to be in service to the deeper dimensions of human experience, Stacey's work attends to both practical realities and the symbolic language of the soul as it emerges through dreams, relationships, symptoms, life transitions, and everyday experience. Her approach fosters greater self-trust, emotional clarity, and inner authority—so clients can move forward with steadiness, insight, and a stronger connection to their lived experience.
