Explore Kenosha’s maritime past and enjoy a special lighthouse themed storytime featuring Sophie Blackall’s award winning book at the historic Southport Lighthouse on Simmons Island! Following the story, explore the keeper’s house and stand next to the historic 1866 Cream City brick lighthouse. The lighthouse was used for 40 years until it was replaced by the iconic red North Pier Lighthouse in 1906.
Please note that all are welcome to attend the storytime and explore the museum at no charge. Those wishing to climb the lighthouse must be at least 8 years old and must purchase a ticket to climb. This event will be held rain or shine.
