Southgate Swing

Southgate Swing has launched a new monthly swing-dance club on the second Wednesday of the month at The Southgate Social Club, Chase Side, London N14 5BP. The swing nights feature live bands, playing the classic swing songs of the 1930s, 40s & 50s, with dancers from all over London ripping it up on the club’s fabulous wooden dance floor! Swing entrepreneur, Dave Piggott, said “we have been looking for a new venue for swing-dancing in North London for a while, and the Southgate Club is the perfect venue – great floor, attractive surroundings, a good stage and house PA system, air-conditioning and easy access from the tube only five minutes from the club’s door”. Once the club has been going and built up a strong dance community, we plan to extend the range of events to include Sunday afternoon Tea Dances, DJs and swing dance teaching sessions”.

The club has an exciting programme scheduled for 2022. On Wednesdy March 9th we have a Balboa Swing Dance class by Nikki Santilli and social dancing to gypsy-jazz from Hot Club de Londres.

Please note, the entrance to the club's music room is off Crown Lane - if arriving by tube, take the left-hand exit from the station, cross the road and pass through the archway with the clock above it, the club entrance is 100 yards on your right (The Chase Side address is the members-only entrance to the club).
