Southampton Chinese Lantern Festival 2023

The Chinese Lantern Festival in Southampton marks the official closing of the 2023 Chinese New Year Celebrations Year of the Rabbit. Like many Chinese New Year customs the Lantern Festival promotes togetherness; where family and friends reunite amidst the glow of many lanterns. This year UK Shaolinand the WeCommunity brings these beloved celebrations to Southampton City.

Join us our Chinese Lantern Festival celebration from 15:30pm – 17:00pm at Southampton Guildhall Square on Saturday 4th February 2023. 2023 is the Year of the Water Rabbit and its animal symbolises a calm energy and an easy-going nature. Our festivities pay homage to the rabbit’s attributes by sharing ways to ease into the new year as well as celebrating all of the fun of the holiday. There will be plenty of activities for people of all ages to enjoy and we can’t wait to share more with you very soon.

Southampton Chinese Lantern festival is hosting a colourful lanterns display for everyone to experience and enjoy the occasion.

At our celebrations we have many activities and workshops as well as spectcular demonstrations including traditional lion and dragon dance food and drink stores arts and crafts the celebration also features other workshops to boost your inspiration and mental health including arts meditation and Tai Chi workshops and many more.
