South Platte Birding Club - May Outing!

This month: We'll venture into Adams County to Elaine T. Valente Open Space! This area has a small pond as well as access to the South Platte for us to explore.

More about SPBC: South Platte Birding Club creates community and celebrates the ecosystem of the South Platte River. We meet monthly, choosing a unique birding location along the river each time. Each outing begins with snacks, conversation, and a brief presentation about an aspect of the river. Outings vary from traditional bird walks to stationary birding, depending on the interest and needs of participants. Binoculars, spotting scopes, and field guides are provided.

This club is meant for birders of all levels; Bird Conservancy will provide mentorship to new birders but also encourage the sharing of knowledge among all participants.

• Restrooms are available
• We plan to travel a maximum of 2 miles on a wide concrete path
• Accessible parking is available
• Some adaptive equipment is available for this event such as camp chairs and a scope adapter
