Join us for a delectable, engaging, and fun food tour through the streets of South Philadelphia. From bakeries producing sweets worthy of Instagram, to sandwich shops that will make you drool, to ethnic cuisine that will leave you begging for more, this is a foodie's dream come true.
DESCRIPTION
Let them eat cake. And cannoli. And stromboli. And tomato pie. And Pho. And Tacos. Well - let's just say them eat anything, because no matter the ethnicity you're craving, you can probably find it somewhere in South Philly. Originally the heart of Italian American Philadelphia, South Philly now boasts wonderful bakeries, restaurants, and other purveyors of fine food and delectable treats from Asian, Latin, and other cuisines from around the world. With the oldest Italian American restaurant still in operation in the entire U.S., to a James Beard Chef of the Year award winner pumping out the most fantastic tacos, to a Brazilian Bakery that will leave you drooling, South Philly represent a true melting pot of cuisines and ethnicities. Join us as we feast our way across the world in just a few miles.
We may even be able to take a peek behind the scenes at some establishments for a quick tour of how this fair gets produced and speak one on one with the owners/proprietors.
This is a walking and eating tour of the city. We will purchase small items to taste or larger items to share with the group at several tops, while at others it will be up to you to purchase anything you might want to taste.
We happily can cater to individual preferences but please note this is NOT a kosher, vegetarian, or vegan friendly tour!!! We respect everyone's palettes equally, but this is designed for the omnivores of the universe!
Part of the cost of the tour is to cover the expense of purchasing items for all participants to try. You do not have to participate and you do not need to purchase anything, though we highly recommend coming hungry and with an open mind and a ready mouth!
We will provide utensils, napkins, plates, wipes, sanitizer, and other necessary items but please note a lot of stops will require us eating on the streets and/or with our hands!
This tour features treats and eats from many different ethnicities and cultures including Italian, Mexican, Chinese, Brazilian, and Vietnamese just to name a few.

WHAT TO BRING (GEAR)
CASH! Some places are cash only.
Good, solid, comfortable walking shoes that you can walk 6+ miles in on concrete pavements & sidewalks.
We advise not wearing flip-flops or any other flimsy footwear. We also advise not wearing anything that you would mind getty dirty, wet, etc.
Backpack or backpack cooler filled with ice to help keep frozen and/or refrigerated items from spoiling
A bottle or two of water
A bag or other means of carrying personal items
Cameras & cellphones (for pictures) welcome!
Appropriate clothing based on the forecasted weather
PARKING
Free parking around Marconi Plaza and on nearby streets. Please obey all posted traffic and parking signs.
Please allow yourself time to find parking and walk to the starting point.
DINNER
If there is interest, the group may go out for food and drink at the end nearby. All are welcome!
CHILDREN
Children 10-18 years of age welcome. We do not encourage younger children to attend

There will be multiple bathroom breaks on our tour

NO-SHOWS & LATE ARRIVALS
No-Shows for a tour/activity may be barred from future events. No-Shows will not be granted refunds or credits of any sort.
If you arrive late and miss the tour you will not receive a refund or credit. All participants must reach out to the guide BEFORE the listed start time.
CANCELLATIONS & REFUNDS
You may cancel up to forty-eight hours before the start time and receive a full refund.
If you cancel past the deadline you will not receive a refund.
