WHAT: South Lake High School Construction Academy Wall Raising Celebration WHEN: Monday, November 3rd at 8:00 a.m.

Habitat for Humanity of Lake-Sumter, in partnership with South Lake High School, is kicking off construction on a new home through the Youth Construction Academy.
Students from South Lake High will spend time during the school week working side by side with Habitat’s construction staff and local trades professionals on live construction projects—gaining hands-on learning experience while helping to build affordable housing in their community.
Construction will continue throughout the school year, from November through May. When the home is complete, students and teachers will take part in a special dedication ceremony, handing over the keys to a local family who has completed Habitat’s Home Ownership program.
Now entering its fifth year, the partnership with South Lake High School’s Construction Academy helps prepare students to graduate career-ready while providing a new homeownership opportunity for a family in need in Lake county.
