Join us for an easy scenic hike/ruck at the South Cape May Meadows Trails. This is a very easy low impact hike/ruck. The SCM Meadows offers scenery, feathered wildlife easy flat trails and connects with the Cape May Point State Park.We will start at Meadows make our way to the state park and visit the lighthouse & the WWII Bunker then make our way back to Meadows to make our way back to our starting point. We will be offering two groups to better accommodate different interests. One group will be more of a leisure walk with a guide from the Nature Conservancy offering information about the Meadows, the wildlife there and its vegetation. The other group will be a more fast pace and longer hike/ruck.
For those wishing to ruck, we ask that you throw 22lbs in your ruck sack to honor the Heroes that we lose to suicide. According to a research done, on average, 22 Veterans die by suicide each day. We lose more of our Nation's Heroes to suicide than we do to their time in service. This includes military, police, firefighters and EMS!
