June 18th - Visit the Library Community Room for a Hairy Equity Project Panel sponsored by UVM Health Network from 6:00-7:00pm. The Hair Equity Project, spearheaded by a group of employees, recognizes the importance of hair care within the medical setting and has garnered widespread recognition for its mission to revolutionize patient care. Partnering with local business owner and hairstylist, Pascale Onguende whose remarkable reputation within the Black community as "the greatest of all time" in hairstyling, known for her exceptional speed and quality, has helped tremendously in ensuring that this project centered the needs of community members. This panel will be moderated by UVMMC’s DEI Director, Taylor Small, and will feature the project leaders at UVMMC, including Alicia Hill, Alli Castile, Vanessa Rose, as well as Pascale Onguende who will delve into the multifaceted aspects of the Hair Equity Project, from its inception to its real-world implications for patient care.
June 19th - Come to Veterans Memorial Park on June 19th from 6:00-8:00pm to help us celebrate the BIPOC artists, businesses, and organizations in our community, as well as enjoy wonderful music and food!

Edwin Owusu: Born in Ghana and raise in the Bronx, he is a hip-hop Afrobeats artist. The music is composed of shareable moments from his journey disseminated to audiences through meticulous attention to detail. He's shared the stage with national acts like Wu-Tang Clan, Pusha T, Jennifer Hartswick & more!
Ambaye Quartet: This quartet offers a fresh and inviting sound in the world of jazz fusion. Formed by a group of dedicated musicians united by their love for innovative music, the quartet is eager to share their performances and diverse blend of genres.
Abizo: A rising star in the world of Congolese music. He broke through in 2020 with his electrifying singles "Blessed" and "Positive Energy". Abizo's recently released album "Rumba Flow" is a testament to his growth, featuring 20 vibrant tracks and quickly surpassing 100,000 streams worldwide.
