Join PAL for a tour of the South Bottoms led by Ed Zimmer. We will meet at 8th & F Streets, NE corner of Cooper Park. Parking is available in the school lot, or along 8th street. Our walk of 60-75 minutes will include:
Park Middle School, still operating on one of the designated public school sites of the 1867 Original Plat
Cooper Park, Lincoln's oldest park, also designated on that Plat
Some of the broad range of residential architecture in South Bottoms Historic District, listed on the National Register of Historic Places
Several churches that served Germans from Russia, Lincoln's major historic immigrant population
Quinn Chapel AME Church, Lincoln's oldest African American congregation.
