About this Event
Theme Deep Dive Event
Join the team behind South Asian Heritage Month (SAHM) for an in-person event that takes the 2026 theme further, creating space to explore its meaning, relevance, and how it can be brought to life across communities, organisations, and creative practice.
This event is about delving into our theme, asking deeper questions, sharing perspectives, and shaping how the theme is understood and used in practice.
Delivered in partnership with Cardiff University, this session will bring together community members, educators, creatives, and changemakers for conversation, reflection, and connection. We will also like to share our thanks to The Mentor Ring and Royal British Legion for supporting this event.
When: Friday 25 April 2026, 1:00–3:00pm
Where: Cardiff University (Bute Building)
Entry: Pay what you Feel

South Asian Heritage Trust
The South Asian Heritage Trust is a volunteer led charity which works to promote the South Asian culture. A volunteer led charity, it aims to create social cohesion, celebrating, educating and commemorating through art, storytelling and shared histories.
One of the projects the Trust runs is the South Asian Heritage Month. This is an annual observance dedicated to publicly promoting the diverse heritage, culture, and contributions of those of South Asian heritage.
The South Asian Heritage Month runs for 30 days and provides a platform for individuals of South Asian descent to connect with their heritage while educating the wider public about the vibrant legacy of South Asian communities globally.
Our annual theme inspires events across the UK, creating spaces for open conversations, initiatives, and activities that celebrate and explore South Asian heritage.
The theme launch is an opportunity for us to share the inspiration behind the theme, opening a conversation about its significance and exploring diverse ways to celebrate South Asian Heritage Month through this unifying focus.
