South Asian Bar Association Gala

The South Asian Bar Association Calgary Chapter (SABA Calgary) is excited to invite you to join us at our inaugural annual gala. We will be celebrating the achievements of our members and recognizing the overwhelming support that SABA Calgary and our members have received from the broader legal community in Calgary. It will be an incredible evening filled with live music, exquisite food and dance performances.

Our keynote speaker will be Justice Ola Malik. Justice Malik is a strong believer in giving back to community, and he has been deeply involved with professional organizations, notably the Canadian Bar Association, Calgary Legal Guidance, and the Alberta Civil Liberties Research Centre. In 2019-20, he served as the President of the Canadian Bar Association for Alberta. Justice Malik is deeply committed to understanding the challenges that many of our most vulnerable and marginalized communities face and to improving the administration of justice so these communities can be better served.

We will also be recognizing three lawyers from the South Asian legal community who have excelled in their respective fields and are role models for the legal profession.

The Gala will be taking place on Wednesday April 5, 2023 at 5:30 p.m.at the Hyatt Regency Calgary located at 700 Centre St S, Calgary, AB.

Non-members of SABA are encouraged to attend and celebrate with SABA Calgary.
