South-African Pianist Bokani Dyer

Bokani Dyer is a multi-award-winning Motswana-South African pianist, composer, and producer whose work traverses the intersections of jazz, soul, electronic music, and African rhythm. A deeply thoughtful and boundary-pushing artist, Dyer has spent over a decade cultivating a sound that is both deeply rooted in the South African jazz tradition and open to global and contemporary influences. After winning the Standard Bank Young Artist Award for Jazz in 2011, he issued the star-studded albums, Emancipate the Story (2011), Oscillations (2013), and World Music (2015), which was nominated for Best Jazz Album at the South African Music Awards. His trio then went on to win Best Jazz Album SAMA with Neo Native (2019).
