This August we're shining a spotlight on the Western Cape's wild terroir, its independent wine mavericks and wines that punch way above their price tag.
South Africa is one of the top 10 wine-producing countries in the world. The wines produced here are unapologetically bold, exhibiting the sunshine-infused richness you’d expect from South Africa’s balmy slopes and lush vineyards. From the dramatic slopes of Stellenbosch to the untamed vines of Swartland, this is a wine country that reimagines the way we see wine. And we love it for that.
About the producer
We are incredibly excited to welcome Lee-Ann from Bartinney & Plaisir Wine Estates for a three-hour winemaker dinner exploring the icons, classics, and hidden gems of Stellenbosh - from bright, aromatic Sauvignon Blanc to creamy Chardonnays and the beautifully layered Plaisir Estate Red Blend. All the wines come from Bartinney and Plaisir Estates, two family-run estates in Stellenbosch, known for precision, character and a deep connection to its terroir. The 5-course menu will showcase the hearty flavours of South Africa, perfectly paired to the wines you'll be tasting.
What to expect
After a welcome drink, Lee-Ann will guide you through the evening, taking you on a journey across five six wines from the estates. You’ll experience the vibrancy of their Chardinnays and the storied complexity of their Estate Red Blends- six glasses in total, all paired with a five-course seasonal and South African menu prepared by our Executive Chef.
If you fall in love with the wines on the night, your ticket also includes a £40 voucher to redeem on the evening towards any case of six wines. Our team will be on hand to help you arrange your order.
