About this Event
This is the first in a monthly series of CPD/training for musicians, artists, music leaders or practitioners who'd like to learn more about accessibility and inclusive practice.
Giorgos Bouras is an experienced community musician and DIY instrument maker. In this workshop, he will explore three key approaches to creating accessible musical environments. First, he will introduce AUMI (Adaptive Use Musical Instrument), a versatile tool designed to make music accessible to individuals with limited mobility. He will then demonstrate how to adapt traditional string instruments for easier use by those with no prior musical experience. Finally, participants will learn to create DIY instruments, blending these methods to foster inclusive and engaging music-making spaces. The workshop aims to equip participants with practical strategies for making music accessible to all.
