The ‘Sound of Nomads’ presents a musical and storytelling odyssey curated by Catur Hari Wijaya and his ensemble of Sound Wanderers. Rooted in Catur’s passion for uncharted realms, ethnic music and folk traditions, this concert is an invitation to traverse space and time, delving into ancient roots while stirring memories and emotions.
Prepare to be transported across continents and epochs as Catur leads you on a sonic adventure, weaving together melodies with timeless tales. From the lush depths of Indonesian jungles to the mystical rhythms of Indian percussions, from the hypnotic melodies of Saharan music to the primal beats of West African drums, each stop along this musical pilgrimage offers a glimpse into the rich tapestry of world music and culture. Yet, the ‘Sound of Nomads’ is more than just a collection of sounds—it's a deeply personal and evocative experience that invites listeners to reconnect with their inner wanderer. Here, dreams merge with reality, and the boundaries between past, present, and future blur into a seamless tapestry of human experience.
So, embark on this nomadic journey with an open heart and a curious spirit, and let the ‘Sound of Nomads’ carry you away on a soul-stirring odyssey that speaks to the wanderlust within us all.

ABOUT THE ARTIST
Catur Hari Wijaya is a multi-instrumentalist musician, sound nomad and drum teacher who has been expressing and sharing music with communities as far back as his memory goes. Passionate about uniting traditional music styles, Catur’s compositions draw upon traditions from Indonesia, Africa, India and beyond.
During his life, Catur had the chance to study traditional music directly from great masters and in 2018, he visited Mali in West Africa, to deepen his musical knowledge and to experience the traditional context of drumming in the motherland of Djembe.
In 2021, Catur released his first solo album "Bali To Mali" available on all major music platforms. Currently, he's putting the final touches on his second album, exploring new instruments and pushing new boundaries of sound.
