Proceeds benefit Sounds of Joy & Unity Renaissance of Chesapeake
Founded in 1999, Sounds of Joy is a vibrant community choir dedicated to uplifting hearts and inspiring audiences through the power of music. With nearly 50 singers, talented guest instrumentalists, a fully volunteer staff, and nonprofit 501(c)(3) status, the group serves the Hampton Roads community and beyond through performances at public and private venues.
At the heart of Sounds of Joy is a simple yet meaningful mission: to bring joy wherever they sing. Through heartfelt performances, they strive to uplift, encourage, and inspire audiences of all ages. The choir is especially passionate about serving nursing homes, rehabilitation and retirement centers, shut-ins, churches, and charitable organizations, bringing comfort and connection to those who may need it most.
Performing approximately 12 times each year, Sounds of Joy continues to thrive through the generosity of its members, supporters, and community partners. Their love for music and service shines through every performance — because for Sounds of Joy, sharing music is more than a passion; it’s a calling.
