Sounds of Bali | Artist Talk + Q&A Deen Lim: Making Space
Advertisement
Join Brighton-based sound artist Deen Lim for an artist talk and Q&A exploring his practice, creative process, and latest work-in-development, created during Fabrica's Making Space residency programme.
Working with field recordings, composition and spatial audio, Deen creates immersive listening experiences that explore place, memory, culture and belonging. Drawing on recordings gathered during a residency in Bali, Indonesia, he is currently developing an 8.2-channel sound installation that reimagines ritual, environmental and performance-based sonic landscapes.
In this intimate evening event, Deen will discuss his journey from music production to sound art, the development of his current project, and the creative and technical challenges of working with field recordings and multichannel sound. The talk will be followed by an audience Q&A.
Before the talk, ticket holders are invited to experience the work-in-progress installation from 4-6pm, with an opportunity to revisit it after the event from 7.30pm.
Audience feedback will help shape the future development of the work.
Capacity is limited and advance booking is essential. Please note there will be a short break between 6-6.15pm before the talk begins.
