Aristotle Jones
Known as the Appalachian Soul Man and carrying the torch for early regional soul pioneers - West Virginia native, Aristotle Jones is a modern mix of timeless styles, drawing influences from artists such as Bill Withers, Leon Bridges, Darius Rucker and Chris Stapleton.
In 2021 Aristotle released four singles on Go 1st Records, where he blended several traditional styles with cool modern vibes. "Ready", "Too Cool", "Get What You Give" and "Count on Me" were the follow ups to his powerful social justice anthem "The Talk" which was featured on the Go 1st records Mixtape Vol. 1.
Aristotle is also the Host of the regional radio show, and podcast "Sounds Good to Me with Aristotle Jones" which airs every Thursday on WAJR from Morgantown, WV and is available on major podcast platforms.
Hustle Souls
Hustle Souls is an Asheville, NC based soul band who blend dust-covered-vinyl nostalgia with modern sensibility; recently named one of "Music Connections" Hot 100 Live Unsigned Artists & Bands. Driven by a lust for songwriting, the band’s fervid live performance is heightened by undeniable instrumental prowess and 3 part vocal harmony. With relentless touring, sold out shows and major festival appearances the band has earned a reputation as one of the East Coast’s most promising acts.
Matt Mullins and the Bringdowns
Matt Mullins & the Bringdowns are an Appalachian Rock band that have found a niche all their own. The stories in their songs are almost as diverse as the influences you hear in the music. Fueled by a driving rhythm section made up of drummer Dylan McInturff and bassist Bob Campion, Stuart Hill creates sonic tapestries with his guitar that will leave you in awe. Add to that the lyrical prowess of raspy voiced singer/guitarist Matt Mullins and you have what the group feels to be the most honest music they have ever collectively created.
Lady D and The Mi$$ion
Lady D, W.Va’s First Lady of Soul. From the age of three, singing is all that she ever wanted to do. Like many little black girls, my first public singing experience was at church. She sang in the gospel choir from the age of seven until graduating high school.
Lady D 21 year career includes five records MY TURN – 2006, SHE’S NOBODY – 2012, LADY D’S ROCK ‘N’ BLUES SAMPLER – 2012, REFLECTIONS – 2014 and DISTURBING MY PEACE – 2020. Her music was featured at the Obama Inaugural Ball in 2009.
Being the opening act for the O’Jays, Lady D has performed up and down the eastern seaboard and with some notables such as blues great, Johnny Rawls and monster blues organist, Bruce Katz. She wrote a book of poetry called “Appalachian BluesSpeak” and discovered the visual arts and began expressing through painting on fabric and canvas. I’ve organized my own jazz & blues festivals and hosted a blues radio show for six years.
The Heavy Hitters
The Heavy Hitters are a band of young cats out of Huntington, WV who hungry to play. They like to groove and want others to groove with them as they make your ears fall in love with their funky rhythms and jazzy ways.
