Sound the Alarm- Save a Life!

The American Red Cross, in partnership with the City of Providence, is sounding the alarm to save lives in Rhode Island and we need your help!  

Sadly, home fires claim seven lives every day in the U.S. However, this staggering statistic can be cut in half with the simple installation of a smoke alarm. This is why the Red Cross is rallying local volunteers to provide fire safety education and install FREE smoke alarms as part of our Sound the Alarm event in May.  

This Sound the Alarm event is part of our national Home Fire Campaign, which has saved at least 2,063 lives across the country and installed more than 2.6 million FREE smoke alarms in communities. Here in Rhode Island, the Red Cross and local partners have installed over 8,700 free smoke alarms, serving at least 8,200 individuals.   

But we cannot do this alone. We need the support of our partners to make Sound the Alarm a success!   

In Providence on Saturday May 4th, 8:00am - 2:00 p.m., the Red Cross will host a community safety event. Volunteers will provide home fire safety education and FREE smoke alarm installation to residents with the goal to install 500 FREE smoke alarms.  

We are excited to help save lives in Providence but we need YOU to make it happen!
