Since "Get Away from Me" (2004), McKay has released nine eclectic albums, ranging from pop to jazz to rock & folk, always defying categorization. Her music has been used on radio, TV and in the movies, and she has appeared on many shows, from The Late Show with David Letterman to A Prairie Home Companion, as well as writing and performing acclaimed bios of Barbara Graham, Rachel Carson, Billy Tipton and Joan Rivers. McKay is also a dedicated advocate for animal rights, feminism, civil rights and environmental protection.
