Sound Healing Layering Intensive | Crystal Bowls & Gongs
Deepen Your Sound Healing Practice Through the Art of Layering
In person on August 22, 2026 - 12 - 6 p.m. at Soul Strong Yoga
You've learned to play the crystal singing bowls. You've felt the room shift under the voice of a gong. Now it's time to discover what happens when those instruments stop standing alone and begin to move together — when sound becomes less a series of notes and more a living, breathing landscape. The Sound Healing Layering Intensive is a hands-on continuing education experience created by Seasons of Sound for graduates of our certification program, and it's an invitation to expand your practice in the most creative way yet.
This is a training about texture, intention, and the quiet artistry of holding space with sound. Over our time together, we'll take the foundational skills you already trust — your work with crystal bowls and gongs — and explore how to weave in complementary instruments to create a richer, more immersive soundscape for meditation. The result is a practice that feels seamless to the listener and deeply intentional to you.
What Layering Really Means
Anyone can pick up another instrument. Layering is something else entirely. It's the difference between playing many sounds and shaping one experience. In this sound healing training, we slow down and pay attention to the choices that turn separate instruments into a single meditative journey: when to introduce a new texture, when to let silence do the work, how one sound can dissolve into the next so the transition is felt rather than noticed.
We'll bring in instruments that complement the crystal singing bowls and gongs you already know — tongue drums with their grounding, melodic warmth, water and ocean element sounds that invite stillness, chimes and other voices that add shimmer and space. More than learning how to play each one, you'll develop an ear for when and why, so every instrument you reach for has a purpose in the soundscape you're building.
A Creative, Experiential Space
From the moment we begin, instruments will be in your hands. We'll experiment, listen closely, and practice building soundscapes for meditation in a supportive group setting where curiosity is welcome and there are no wrong notes — only choices to explore. You'll have the chance to try complementary instruments you may not yet own, to play alongside fellow graduates, and to receive gentle feedback that helps you trust your own creative instincts.
Because this is the first time we're offering this intensive, it's designed to breathe. Rather than marching through a rigid curriculum, we move through guiding themes — building on your crystal bowls and gongs as an anchor, introducing new textures, shaping dynamics and space, crafting transitions, and learning to read and respond to the energy of a room in real time. You'll leave with a wider palette to draw from and a deeper, more confident sense of how to layer sound with intention.
Who This Training Is For
The Sound Healing Layering Intensive is open exclusively to graduates of the Seasons of Sound certification program. A working familiarity with crystal singing bowls and gongs is essential, because we build directly on those foundational skills. If you've completed your certification and you're ready to bring more depth, creativity, and dimension to the sound baths and meditations you offer, this experience was made for you.
Reserve Your Place
Spaces in this hands-on sound healing training are intentionally limited so that everyone has room to play, explore, and be heard. If you feel called to deepen your practice and discover the art of layering, we'd love to have you join us. Reserve your spot today and step into a more immersive way of creating sound.
