Sound & Solidarity: Standing with Incarcerated Peoples

Sound & Solidarity brings people together through music and art to spark connection and community. JustArts Gallery invites our local community to invest in, create with, and learn from artists experiencing incarceration.

This fall, JustArts Gallery and Sound & Solidarity are teaming up to celebrate music as a force for solidarity, imagination, and belonging. We’re inviting 5 local musicians and 5 artists confined to carceral institutions to submit playlists and cover art for a personalized mixtapes and engage in dialogue around the inspiration for their creations. 

On October 12, 2025 (3–6pm), we invite you to an afternoon of listening, conversation, and collective creativity. Explore mixtape listening stations, check out original cover art, and hear from contributors about the songs that inspire them.

Stick around for a silent auction of the mixtapes! Proceeds will benefit the participating incarcerated artists.
