Everyone is invited to DJ Soul Sister’s annual holiday record digging party at Domino Sound Record Shack, one of New Orleans’ favorite, underground vinyl record shops.
Dig with Soul Sister while she spins selections entirely from the Domino Sound store stock! She'll also help you with recommendations for your music & gift purchases.
Free refreshments for all ages. Giveaways too!
Domino Sound Record Shack carries new & used vinyl LPs & 45s in reggae, blues, R&B, hip hop, African, soul, rock, jazz, funk, punk, international & "weird." Plus cassettes, books, gifts, imports, even turntables! Domino Sound accepts cash and credit cards.
Free and open to all ages. No purchase necessary to enjoy.

::: BOOK DRIVE:::
Participate in the One Book One New Orleans book drive benefiting Operation Restoration. Donated books will go to children of families impacted by the justice system.
Just bring a new book (or books) for children and young adults to the Holiday Crate Dig at Domino Sound Record Shack (2557 Bayou Rd.) on Sunday, December 8, 3:00 – 5:00 p.m.
Different ways to get your books for the drive:
1) Purchase new books from any bookseller.
2) Purchase books on site at the Community Book Center, located just a few steps away from Domino Sound Record Shack.

PRIZES:
All book donors will also be entered to WIN a gift certificate for Domino Sound Record Shack and other prizes. Winners will be chosen during the event and need not be present. Raffle drawings will happen at 4:00, 4:30, and 5:00.
One raffle entry per donated book. (For example, if you bring 5 books, you will get 5 entry tickets to win.)
WHO?
ONE BOOK ONE NEW ORLEANS:
One Book One New Orleans is a nonprofit organization that supports literacy, builds community, and promotes meaningful dialogue between people of diverse backgrounds by calling on all New Orleanians to share the experience of reading and discussing a selected book each year, and providing literacy resources to organizations and individuals throughout our community. Knowing that they cannot achieve their goals alone, One Book One New Orleans works with a number of community partners to ensure that books are accessible to those typically excluded from a community of readers, including people experiencing poverty, homelessness, visual impairment, low literacy, and incarceration.
OPERATION RESTORATION:
Operation Restoration’s mission is to support women and girls impacted by incarceration to recognize their full potential, restore their lives, and discover new possibilities. The non-profit organization was founded in 2016, and is led by formerly incarcerated women.
