2 fabulous happenings this month.1 - Our very first 30 second showcase
2 - Our Special guest Justin from Sydney will be teaching a Bachata workshop and performing.
This month is our first ever '30 second showcase' special.
What is a 30 second showcase?
This is your chance to put together 30 seconds of choreography to showcase to our local dance community. You may be thinking 'gee I always have wanted to try performing but its a bit intimidating' well this is your chance to dive in, in a safe space among other dancers who will have nothing but support for you! Maybe you have just started dancing and want to remember a shines pattern, maybe you're one of our local studio owners or team leaders and you want to just try something out, or maybe you have just started a new style and want to see how it feels to perform, maybe it is a bucket list item...or maybe you are even thinking of entering a competition, there could be all kinds of reasons, we would love to see what our local dancers can come up with.
Here are the parameters:
Open to: Soloists, couples, teams. Performance spots will be limited.
Time limit: strictly 30 seconds or less
Costume: encouraged but not required
Music: you need to be able to email your music to our DJ, alternatively you can bring it with you on a USB
Registration: Registration will open on 1 July, 2024. Details of how to register will be provided soon.
What's in it for you?
Entry to SOS for 30 second show casers is complementary and of course the opportunity to showcase in a cool venue with cool people!
Who is Justin?
Justin is a versatile dancer with experience in a variety of styles, he has competed on the world stage in Bachata and performs, choregraphs and trains dancers for shows and competition. He's a wonderful person, full of charisma who has the interests of the best things of the world in his heart.
Justin will be teaching our pre party workshop along with our local Reina Lana!
In addition to this, as always we've got hours of social dancing, a pre event dance lesson, curated music from local DJ's for your dancing pleasure and well...SOS!!! As always we encourage, invite and support dancers from all studios to come meet, mix, dance and get to know one another. All are welcome!
What to expect:
Theme: Rainbow
Workshop: At 7pm come enjoy a Bachata workshop with our special guest Justin and Canberra's own Lana included in your entry.
Music: curated by Canberra DJ's and members of the SOS team.

Tickets:
Ticket includes workshop and/or social dancing.
$20 pre purchase tickets online recommended and you save 20% on the at the door price till midday, Friday before the event.
