Sons do Brasil vol. 10 - ft. Vinicius Gomes

The tenth edition of Sons do Brasil features Brazilian guitarist and composer Vinicius Gomes. Born in São Paulo and based in New York, his music is at the intersection of modern jazz and Brazilian music. With projects such as Resiliência, Changes, and Home — highly praised by the press and honored by DownBeat, among others — he has established himself as a distinctive voice of his generation. As a guitarist and composer, he collaborates internationally with artists such as Edu Ribeiro, Magos Herrera, and Duduka da Fonseca and can be heard on over 40 recordings. His music has been performed on renowned stages and at festivals worldwide, including Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center, the Newport Jazz Festival, and the Winter Jazz Fest in New York.

In Hamburg, Vinicius will join a strong lineup from the local scene: Lucas Etcheverria (guitar), curator of Sons do Brasil and an active part of Hamburg’s jazz scene; Paul Imm (double bass), one of the city’s most sought-after bassists; and Rafa Müller (drums), an outstanding young drummer from Brazil who is active in numerous projects spanning jazz, improvised, and Brazilian music.

Together, they create an evening full of exchange, energy, and improvisation, with Brazilian roots, global influences, and special guest performers.
