Why Sonic Yin?
Yoga, especially the slow, gentle yoga of Yin and Restorative are proven to help slow brain waves, calm the nervous system, reduce anxiety and pain, and deepen relaxation.
Music, especially live music, has been shown to reduce blood pressure, help manage stress, alleviate pain, and improve overall mood.
Music and yoga are a powerful combination!
Any questions get in touch - We have a 48 hour cancellation policy, only if we can fill your spot, will be able to refund your registration.
What to bring so you can fully relax:
Sonic Yin is about deep relaxation of body, mind and soul, gentle yoga with a live soundscape of crystal bowls, flutes, and shamanic drumming. We always lead in with some gentle movement and theme the evenings to the seasons. There are a few Yin poses which stretch the soft tissues of the body (particularly the fascia). Then we move into Restorative yoga which is all about being as comfortable as you can be. All the yoga is on the mat supported by props, either seated, lying down, or on the stomach.
It is VERY important to bring props. There are a limited number of yoga bolsters (firm cushions) that are provided, and these go quickly! It is highly recommended that you bring blankets, cushions, a yoga mat, and anything else on the list that you would like. Props can be anything that you can bring with you to be more comfortable. Here are some options:
– blankets are perfect and you can’t bring too many (at least 3)!
– cushions, and pillows are great (2 or more)
– yoga bolsters (if you have one or two, please bring them – I bring a number of bolsters)
– yoga mat or two if you want to make sure your back is comfortable
– yoga blocks, if you have them
– an eye mask is good as well if you are sensitive to the light
– layers – even on the warmest evening the body cools down when it is still, so layers are good!
Please bring anything else that will help you be comfortable. If you only have blankets then bring what you can, they are perfect for almost everything.
Thank you for supporting local yoga!
