În programul de intervenții performative care ne aduc împreună în stadionul-expoziție OFFSIDE, vă invităm miercuri, 26 august, de la ora 18, la /SAC @ MINCU GALLERY (str. Academiei 18-20) pentru SONIC SPORTS, o audiție de creație sonoră și radiofonică, precum și o discuție cu artiștii.
SONIC SPORTS este o aventură sonoră a platformei SEMI SILENT, o invitație la sport, joacă, amintiri și emoții inițiată chiar la începutul jubilației sportive generate de marile evenimente ale verii din 2024: EURO 2024, competițiile europene de înot și Jocurile Olimpice de la Paris. SONIC SPORTS a invitat artiștii sonori pe teritorii de explorare noi ce implică cercetare de teren, dialog cu sportivi și echipe de sprijin, field recording, dar și scriere intimă sau ficțională, pentru o serie de creații sonore și radiofonice. SONIC SPORTS propune o lectură sensibilă a rolului sportului în viața noastră și a raporturilor intime pe care le creăm cu corpul și cu comunitățile implicate, din plan foarte apropiat, la o distanță de un suflu sau o bătaie de inimă, prin perspectiva spectactatorului din tribună sau prin miuța copiilor din spatele blocului, prin amintiri, istorii și memorie personală.
La începutul proiectului, SEMI SILENT spera că atmosfera plină de generozitate a verii anului 2024 va trezi în oameni dorința de a se reapuca de sport, de a găsi cuvintele potrivite pentru a vorbi despre propriile experiențe sportive, de a se bucura de micile victorii personale și de a-i încuraja pe cei din jur să li se alăture... SEMI SILENT speră în continuare că, măcar de dragul sănătății individuale, dacă nu pentru valoarea interpersonală și socială a sportului de echipă, oamenii (și artiștii) vor face, totuși, loc sportului în viețile lor.

SEMI SILENT vă invită la o ascultare colectivă a unei serii de lucrări sonore despre sport compuse de artiștii Vasile Leac, Mihnea Chelariu, Paul Breazu și Pavel Brăila, urmată de o discuție moderată de Anamaria Pravicencu, curatoarea proiectului SONIC SPORTS.
SONIC SPORTS este organizat de SEMI SILENT și găzduit în contextul expoziției OFFSIDE, al doilea capitol al programului curatorial „Tensiuni în ritm / Rhythmic Stress”. Proiecte culturale co-finanţate de Administraţia Fondului Cultural Naţional. Proiectele nu reprezintă în mod necesar poziţia Administrației Fondului Cultural Național. AFCN nu este responsabilă de conținutul proiectelor sau de modul în care rezultatele proiectelor pot fi folosite. Acestea sunt în întregime responsabilitatea beneficiarului finanțării.

Within the program of performative interventions which bring us together on the playfield-exhibition OFFSIDE, we would like to invite you Wednesday, August 26th, at 6 PM, to /SAC @ MINCU GALLERY (str. Academiei 18-20) for SONIC SPORTS, a sound and radio art listening, and talk with the artists.
SONIC SPORTS is a sound art adventure by SEMI SILENT, an invitation to sports, play, memories, and emotions, initiated right in the beginning of the sporting jubilation of the 2024 summer big events: EURO 2024, the European swimming competitions, and the Paris Olympic games. SONIC SPORTS invited sound artists into new territories of exploration involving field research, dialogue with athletes and support teams, field recording, as well as intimate or fictional writing, for a series of sound and radio art pieces. SONIC SPORTS aimed for a sensitive reading of the role of sport in our lives and the intimate relationships we create with our bodies and the communities involved, from the very close-up, a breath or heartbeat away, through the perspective of the spectator in the stands or the football of children in the neighbourhood streets, through memories, histories, and personal recollections.
At the beginning of the project, SEMI SILENT hoped that the generous atmosphere of the 2024 summer will get people in the mood to get into sport, find the language to talk about their own sporting experiences, enjoy small personal victories and encourage those around them to join in... SEMI SILENT still hopes that for the sake of individual health, if not for the interpersonal and social value of it, people (and artists) will make room for sport in their lives.

SEMI SILENT invites you for a collective listening of a series of sound art and radio pieces about sport composed by the artists Vasile Leac, Mihnea Chelariu, Paul Breazu, and Pavel Brăila, followed by a discussion with the artists moderated by Anamaria Pravicencu, the curator of the SONIC SPORTS project.
SONIC SPORTS is organized by SEMI SILENT and shown in the context of the exhibition OFFSIDE, the second part of the curatorial program „Rhythmic Stress / Tensiuni în ritm”. Cultural projects co-financed by Administration of the National Cultural Fund. The projects do not necessarily represent the official position of the Administration of the National Cultural Fund. AFCN shall not be held liable for the projects’ content or any use to which the projects’ outcome might be put. These are the sole responsibility of the beneficiary of the funding.
