About this Event
Join us on the evening of Saturday, March 28th for the opening of SONIC 2.0: Noise & Vision, a pop-up fine art exhibition by Los Angeles artist Marcel "Sel" Blanco. The show brings together a new series of composite works that reimagine four decades of iconic rock, punk, hardcore, and hip-hop photography — drawing from the archives of celebrated music photographers Jeffrey Mayer, Kevin Salk, Richard Abagon, Allison Braun, Drew Carolan, Fabrice Henssens, and George Ortiz. Subjects range from Led Zeppelin and David Bowie to Bad Brains, the Ramones, LL Cool J, and beyond. Several works make their world premiere on opening night and will be available for acquisition at the show and online the same evening. Presented by FATHOM, Los Angeles.
Saturday Artist's Reception: 6PM to 9 PM (Sponsored by SYNERGY Kombucha)
Sunday: 11AM to 4 PM
About the Artist
Marcel "Sel" Blanco is a Los Angeles-based multidisciplinary artist whose practice is rooted in the city's punk rock and graffiti cultures of the early 1980s. As an OG member of the WCA (West Coast Artists) crew — one of the seminal graffiti collectives in Los Angeles — Sel developed a visual language defined by bold color, kinetic movement, and layered narrative. He later channeled that sensibility into a career as a graphic designer and art director for the music industry before returning his focus to fine art, murals, and painting. His work bridges street art and fine art, drawing on decades of cultural fluency to construct images that feel simultaneously immediate and deeply informed by history.
About FATHOM
FATHOM is a Los Angeles-based art publisher, gallery, and print studio with a curatorial perspective that resists easy categorization. Working directly with over 70 artists and estates, FATHOM publishes original art and limited edition prints across contemporary fine art, street art, photography, and music culture — with a particular focus on discovering emerging artists, revisiting overlooked masters, and unearthing lost archives. All prints are produced in-house to certified archival standards, the same level of production the studio provides to museums and blue-chip galleries.
