Alfred has fled his home and is searching for refuge. He carries with him his one possession, a little red chair. None of the other birds will welcome him and tell him to go away! But one day he arrives at Sonia’s home and a beautiful friendship begins. A wonderful story about finding home, belonging, friendship, and family told through exquisite theatre and shadow puppetry.
Artistic Director Lynda says: “I first witnessed the artistry of Teatro Gioco Vita in 2013 when they performed at the Festival Petits bonheurs in Montreal. I wept at the beauty of their images, the use of poetic and emotion-rich text and music, and seamless flow back and forth between the shadow puppet character and the actor on stage. This very special performance is not to be missed.”
About Teatro Gioco Vito
Teatro Gioco Vita was founded in 1971, among the first entities in Italy to be a protagonist of the theatrical animation movement. Teatro Gioco Vita meets shadow theater at the end of the seventies. From their work with coherence and professional conscience, and also thanks to the contribution of external collaborators, the company has gained a unique experience of its kind which has earned them recognition and prestigious collaborations in Venice, London, Milan, Rome, and Turin. The Company is involved not only in the production of shadow shows but also in laboratory activities with schools and young people.
