As the NC Folk Festival winds down, come join us for our monthly celebration of NC songwriters with a good ol' songwriters in the round.
Bobbie Needham began playing guitar, singing and eventually writing her own songs as the vicarious musical life provided by her musician daughters ended as they fledged into different paths in adulthood. Initially drawn to country, honky-tonk and bluegrass, Bobbie found her way into blues, swing, and the all-encompassing category, Americana: “That simply means I write and sing what I please.” Needham released her first album, “What Mama Should’ve Told You”, in the spring of 2020.
Singer-songwriter Randy Condor Williams infuses folk, rock, soul to bring people together and speak truth to power. Since 2016, Randy has fronted the rock band Mightier Than Me, earning a Carolina Music Award and radio play in several countries. He is currently performing in support of his recorded music, available on all digital streaming platforms.
Patterson Hood of The Drive-By Truckers said this about Jeff Wall, “He calls himself Bigdumbhick, and you know, he’s really big, and he’s undeniably kind of a hick, but there ain’t nothing dumb about him. He’s smarter than I could ever dream of being, and he writes really great songs and he has gotten So. F***ing. Good.”
