Songwriters in the Round - PDX

Songwriters in the Round was created from a deep love of songs, storytelling, and the kind of community that forms when people truly listen.

Jo Blinman, spent years hosting and curating songwriter rounds locally, regionally, and nationally, bringing together emerging artists and well known songwriters in the same room. The mission has always been simple: to create a welcoming listening room where songs come first, artists feel supported, and audiences get to experience music in its most honest form.

In a round, each songwriter takes turns sharing an original song. One by one, the songs unfold. As the night progresses, something special happens. Artists begin to harmonize on each other’s songs, add instrumental accompaniment, and collaborate in ways that are completely unplanned. No two rounds are ever the same.

For fans, it offers a rare, in the moment perspective on songs they may already love, or are hearing for the very first time.

For artists, it creates space for connection, generosity, and creative exchange. The magic lives on the stage, but it carries into the room.

Songwriters in the Round exists to build community locally while welcoming artists from across the region and the country, creating nights that feel intimate, collaborative, and truly special.
