Megan O Neill | Grainne Hunt | Emma Langford3 of Ireland’s finest female singer/songwriter/performers perform ‘In The Round’ – sharing their music and the stories behind their songs.
This intimate ‘In The Round’ style of presenting originated in Nashville’s Bluebird Café where it is now a hallmark tradition. Songwriters take turns singing their own original material and sharing the stories behind their songs. 'In the Round' gigs are typically cosy, informal and conversational - where artists will get personal, have fun on stage and let you in on some beloved stories and tales from their lives.
For this performance we’re delighted to welcome Megan O Neill, Grainne Hunt and Emma Langford.
Named one of the Irish Examiner’s Ones to Watch, Megan has travelled the globe with her original music for the past decade. She’s shared the stage with the likes of Tom Jones. Jamie Cullum, Lighthouse Family and Glen Hansard and her music has featured in hit Netflix TV Show ‘Firefly Lane’ and ABC’s ‘Nashville’. She’s currently putting the finishing touches to a new collection of songs set for release this year.
Dubbed ‘The Irish Joni’ Grainne Hunt habitually enchants audiences with her heart-melting vocals and emotional songs. Comparisons drawn with Tracy Chapman, Natalie Merchant and Dolores Keane as well as the aforementioned Joni Mitchell are well merited. She’s shared stages with Glen Hansard and U2 as well as opening for the legendary Gladys Knight.
Emma Langford playfully blends folk, traditional and contemporary sounds and styles. She’s a well-known and well-respected fixture on the Irish music scene with songs such as The Winding Way Down to Kells Bay and Birdsong solidifying her reputation at home and making a name for herself internationally. She can currently be found touring a brand-new collaborative body of work celebrating Irish myth, history and folklore.
