About this Event
A (mostly) monthly concert series featuring San Diego's finest songwriters. Three acts perform in a Nashville-style round sharing the stories and inspirations behind their beautiful songs. Guest hosted by Lauren Leigh!
ABOUT THE ARTISTS:
is a native San Diegan who has made music his life. His musical contributions include his work in current bands Berkley Hart and Jeff Berkley & The Banned, as well as his solo performances. His previous bands include The Cry, The Redwoods, and Citizen Band. He is also known for his work with the many musicians he has produced in studios around the world, including his own. The legend continues as he is also an amazing guitarist and percussionist with multiple acts. As an accomplished songwriter (he won the Kerrville New Folk Songwriter award in 1999), in any way you engage with Jeff Berkley, he puts you at ease with his good humor, and then engages you with his experience, his ear, and his passion.
Shelbi Bennett is a dynamic San Diego musician whose unforgettable voice drives the haunting, genre-bending SDMA award-winning music of The Midnight Pine. Other notable projects Shelbi include W0rmh0le, The Havnauts, and the celebrate Kate Bush tribute band Baby Bushka. Whether fronting a band or joining forces with fellow musicians for side projects and session work, Shelbi’s ability to channel raw emotion and authenticity is palpable on every stage she graces.
: Oklahoma born singer-songwriter Will Stucky began his love for music when he was 5. After pursuing a music degree, Stucky spent some post-grad time touring with bands including Up From Under & Arlis Moon, writing & performing with The Songwriters Co, & teaching before stumbling into a day-job of breaking computers & wandering westward to CA. Music has continued to be the main source for experiencing joy, expressing grief, & connecting with good people. Influenced by The Beatles, Ben Folds, Radiohead, & others, Will finally ended a public musical hiatus with a few Christmas tunes for fun while he works on finishing his first full-length album.
