Songs of Leonard Cohen by Candlelight with Bryan Dalton
Husky-voiced, Dublin-born songwriter Bryan Rice Dalton joins forces with Fremantle virtuoso instrumentalist John Reed for one beautiful night devoted to the work of Leonard Cohen — the songs, the stories, and the poems that have moved generations of listeners around the world.
From the smoky elegance of Suzanne and Bird on the Wire to the slow-burning grace of Hallelujah and Famous Blue Raincoat, Cohen's catalogue is a body of work made for candlelight, salt air and close listening. Stripped back to voice, guitar and a master instrumentalist's touch, these songs reveal themselves anew — tender, wry, devastating, and unmistakably Cohen.
Bryan brings the depth and lived-in warmth of a Dublin troubadour; John brings the quiet brilliance of one of Fremantle's most respected musicians. Together they offer something rare: an evening of poetry as much as performance — equal parts concert, recital and conversation with one of the great songwriters of our time.
With the ocean just beyond the walls, the candles low and the acoustics flawless, there is no better room in WA to spend an evening with Leonard Cohen.
About the Winter Series
This winter we're feeling a little nostalgic — so we're returning to our Soiree roots, bringing back the simple menus that launched our Soiree Series in the middle of Covid and made us famous. Expect a delicious, home-cooked "nostalgic" supper, served with soul. No table menus — you'll see the night's menu when you choose your artist and book your tickets.
We're proudly not a restaurant. Kidogo is an artist's concept of the best night out — a beautiful heritage venue perched beside the ocean (you can hear the waves as you eat), with stunning ambience, cosy candlelit lighting, spectacular acoustics, and curated high-end, collectable original art on the walls. Paired with the very best of Australian singers, songwriters and musicians, it's an unforgettable evening — and nothing like anywhere else in WA.
So simple. So homely. So nostalgic. Very intimate.
We're a small venue with a huge, loyal following — and our tickets always sell out fast.
