Songs for St. Cecilia

Celebrate the start of the Calgary Bach Choir’s 2026/27 season with a programme of glorious choral music, joined by special guests, the UCalgary Chorus.

The concert features Purcell’s joyful Welcome to All the Pleasures – Ode for Saint Cecilia's Day, 1683, Haydn’s Kyrie from the St. Cecilia Mass, Vivaldi’s radiant Lauda Jerusalem, Bach’s beloved Sheep May Safely Graze, and his powerful Cantata 50.

Also performing is the Calgary Vocal Chamber Music Ensemble, with three excerpts from Bach’s Cantata 36. The UCalgary Chorus, under the direction of Kathryn Parrotta, will perform Joseph M. Martin’s The Awakening and Parrotta’s Can I Give You a Song.

And as always, students 18 and under receive free admission.
