This time featuring the two special guests Douglas Linton (US) and Stephan Steiner (AT), who will help Songpoets Society founding member Herald K (NO) serve up a fine selection of songs by songwriters of the past either hailing from, or strongly connected to, the state of Texas. Expect tunes and words written by the hands of the likes of Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark, Woody Guthrie, Blaze Foley and others to grace the concert room of Kulturcafe Henriette this evening...
Individual bios:
Texan singer-songwriter Douglas Linton, now living in Vienna, hot on the heels of releasing 'Lucky 13', an album featuring a host of excellent Vienna-based musicians including Hans Theessink, Helmut Mitteregger and many more, is here to serve you a musical Texan stew consisting of authentic ingredients picked up from his times spent and lived in his native Lone Star State. Flavours and spices which can only be savoured by experiencing Douglas live, and this time within the cosy intimate setting of Kulturcafe Henriette, Vienna...

Stephan Steiner, a central figure on the Viennese folk scene, is able to play a range of styles whether it be Irish, American, of the Balkans, Greek or others. Out of the many instruments he plays, he has recorded violin, accordion, nyckelharpa, concertina and tin whistle in collaborations with Herald K.

Herald K is a Norwegian singer-songwriter based in Vienna. He has released two albums: 'Strange Delights' in 2019, and 'Mythologies' in May 2023. Herald K describes his music as 'Folk Noir'. His arrangements are folksy, involving mainly acoustic instruments. His lyrics are often inspired by old, sometimes ancient, literature.
