About this Event

The Songbird Series is a weekly celebration of some of Toronto's finest vocal talents, paired with the warm, friendly ambiance of Drom Taberna.

February 27: TIA BRAZDA

One of Canada's most recognizable voices in jazz, Tia Brazda's style has established her as a sparkling presence on the jazz scene, both at home and abroad; her eclectic music fuses together elements of swing, blues, rockabilly, soul, electro and pop.

March 5: SAM BROVERMAN & LAURA HUBERT QUARTET

Popular Toronto-based jazz crooner and songwriter Sam Broverman and local legend Laura Hubert team up for an evening of classic standards, joined by cherished sidemen Peter Hill on piano and Chris Gale on saxophone.

March 12: JULIE MICHELS & KEVIN BARRETT

A guitar and vocal duo like no other, long-time friends Julie Michels and Kevin Barrett make each song their own, from the Great American Songbook to Rickie Lee Jones, Paul Simon, Dave Frishberg and The Beatles.

March 19: ALLYSON MORRIS TRIO

Captivating her audience with a groove and sophisticated style, Allyson Morris is a Toronto-based vocalist who uses her sultry, powerful, pitch-perfect voice and exquisite phrasing to inform the intelligence of her song interpretations and musical improvisations.

March 26: JOHN ALCORN TRIO

One of Canada's premiere jazz vocalists, John Alcorn has delivered his distinctive renditions of jazz standards on the most prestigious bandstands and concert stages across Canada. For his Drom Taberna debut he is joined by guitarist Nathan Hiltz and bassist Lauren Falls.
