𝗦𝗢𝗡𝗚 𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗦𝗢𝗣𝗛𝗜𝗔𝗧𝗢𝗪𝗡 is a story about 1950s and 60s South Africa, told through the lens of popular culture. The story traces the lives of an extraordinary, intertwined generation of artists and leaders as they navigate the seminal moments of the time. The likes of Miriam Makeba, Hugh Masekela, Trevor Huddleston, Arthur Goldreich, Henry Nxumalo, and Desmond Tutu.
As with all of Michael's work, the story offers a fresh human layer to a traumatic period which forged our national culture; our music; our divisions; and ultimately our great heave towards transcending those divides.
SONG FOR SOPHIATOWN is an emotive, personal story of hope for South Africa and the world.
Complimentary drinks and snacks served before the show and during interval. The story is 90 minutes with an interval after 45.
