Dear friends,
Do you feel the call to create? To step into a space where your voice — whether tentative or bold — can give life to something extraordinary?
This will be the third time I have hosted a song-crafting weekend retreat, and each time it has become more potent, more powerful, and more full of possibility. Together we’ve unlocked a portal of collective fire through our songs. Some have been strong and full of raw emotion, stirring something ancient and powerful within us. Others have been playful and delightful, reminding us of the simple joys of being alive. And then there were the songs that revealed the alchemy of woven parts — intricate harmonies that taught us the artistry of collaboration and the profound learning that comes through play.
Every time, the space has been alive with possibility. A place where every voice matters, and every contribution adds to the whole. As I’ve guided these groups, weaving threads of energy and inspiration, I’ve witnessed the courage it takes to step forward, the beauty of shared vulnerability, and the brilliance that emerges when women come together with open hearts and creative spirits.
And now, I am inviting you to step into this space with me.
What this weekend holds for you
At Lower Shaw Farm, with its wildflower gardens, cosy corners, and the warmest hospitality you can imagine, we’ll gather to craft songs that reflect life in all its forms. From the profound to the playful, the healing to the everyday, we’ll sing, laugh, and create in ways that are as much about the process as the result.
You can expect:
Song-writing and song-crafting workshops – playful practices to draw out melodies, rhythms, and lyrics
Improvisation and exploration – discovering creativity through games, prompts, and gentle guidance
Collaborative creation – weaving harmonies and parts together, learning the magic of co-creation
Group harmony singing – because we’ll always ground ourselves in shared song
Gentle movement – to soften and open the body for creativity
Time for rest and reflection – firesides, laughter, and space to breathe
Nourishing meals – hearty, home-cooked food that sustains and delights
No musical experience is required. Whether you’ve written a hundred songs or are just beginning, you’ll be guided into a space where every voice is valued, and the process is as important as the outcome.

This retreat is open to Singing Mamas leaders, their singers, and friends from Kate’s wider singing groups. Whether you’re leading songs for others or simply love to be carried by harmony, you’ll find yourself welcomed and supported.
The Venue: Lower Shaw Farm
Lower Shaw Farm is a quirky, heart-filled farmhouse on the edge of Swindon, lovingly run by Matt and Andrea. With its rambling kitchen, cosy corners, gardens, and friendly farm atmosphere, it’s a place that invites you to slow down and feel at home.

Lower Shaw Farm is a converted farmhouse with bedrooms across two floors. You’ll need to be able to climb stairs to access most sleeping spaces. Bathrooms are shared. The venue is rustic, characterful, and full of warmth.
